Video Conferncing Technology Requirements for
Professional Practitioner Studies, Year II
Hardware:
Apple: A G4 or higher with 1 gigabyte of RAM
OR
PC: Pentium 3 or higher with 1 gigabyte of RAM.
The RAM (random access memory) is VERY important, and if you don't have a gigabyte, it is very cheap to upgrade.
Required: Video webcam with headset. (If you will be taking class in a quiet place, you can get by with a microphone.) The Logitech 961422-0103 webcam is recommended. You can get it at places like Circuit City or CompUSA, etc. for under $100. You will have to load the software that comes with the camera before you connect it.
Software:
Ivisit software is required. We are doing a group buy, so it will only cost you $25. As soon as the enrollment period ends, everyone enrolled will be signed up for the premium version of IVisit. Then, I will send you the directions for downloading the software to your computer. Once you have downloaded, you will automatically be registered with the e-mail address I have for you.
Internet:
You will need a high-speed Internet connection, DSL or cable, with at least 768 KBPS upstream and 361 kbps (kilobytes per second) downstream. The higher number of kbps each way, the better it will be for everyone.
It is recommended that your Internet connection be wired.
If you are connecting wirelessly, it may or may not work. If
you must connect wirelessly, be prepared for your connection
to be sporadic and be prepared to use the phone.
